Asset Management in Centre Wellington

Centre Wellington is one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario with a population of around 30,000. It has significant agricultural land and two thriving downtowns in Elora and Fergus with strong manufacturing, hospitality and tourism sectors.

In 2014, the municipality moved towards a new asset management-driven approach that included a dedicated capital levy. This new stream of revenue is used exclusively to replace or repair bridges prioritized by staff using a risk-based approach which involves monitoring their condition and the associated consequences of failure.
