Asset Management Training for Municipalities

AMO is continuing to provide training in asset management to municipal staff through the Municipal Asset Management Program, which is delivered by the Federation of Canada Municipalities and funded by the Government of Canada.

AMO has engaged practitioners from AMONTario to work directly with participants, introduce easy to use tools and templates, and provide hands-on training to help develop internal capacity that will translate into making sustainable progress in asset management.

To date 80+ municipalities across Ontario have benefited from participating in this project and made measurable progress, many in all areas. Participating municipalities are grouped in cohorts based on geography, population size, staff capacity and common challenges in asset management. This approach facilitates peer to peer learning and help establish knowledge sharing groups for active collaboration among neighboring municipalities.

Currently AMO is delivering in-person workshops and remote coaching sessions to three new cohorts comprising of 33 municipalities with nearly 100 participants.
