Bruce County Invests in Major Bridge Rehabilitation

Bruce County is investing in more than $4.1 million from the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) over multiple years for an essential bridge rehabilitation on Durham Street in Walkerton.

Originally constructed in 1937, the 70-metre bridge is receiving several structural upgrades that will extend its lifespan by up to 40 years. The bridge over the Saugeen River provides a critical connection to downtown Walkerton, serving many businesses, residents, and travelers.

Beyond an improvement to infrastructure, this work is an investment in safety for motorists and pedestrians.
