Busy Roadway in Tweed Fully Reconstructed

A main traffic vein in the Municipality of Tweed has been fully reconstructed using investments from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

In 2020, the Town rehabilitated 3.1 kilometres of Napanee Road to Coldwater Road, which is located east of the village of Tweed in the neighbouring community of Marlbank.

This is a main throughway for people travelling to Highway 41 on route to a neighbouring county or south to Napanee and Highway 401. It was also a priority project as this stretch of road serves more than 50 households.

Work on this area of the highway included ditching, culvert replacement, removal of the existing road surface and application of hot mix asphalt.

The rehabilitation of Napanee Road means enhanced safety for residents and travellers using the road, and is intended to maintain a good state of repair for years to come.

The Municipality of Tweed has completed important road work in the village of Marlbank.
