Callander Expands Service Delivery and Invests in Safety

Callander, a community located just south of North Bay, has completed a full rehabilitation of Swale Street, an important connection between the municipality’s community centre, parks, and downtown.

A $250,000 CCBF investment helped the municipality make important updates to the street that mitigate flooding to residential properties and enhance overall safety.

Key to the work is an extension of water and wastewater services that will enable construction of either a new firehall or OPP building on the street. Along with new sidewalk connections, this makes the area a strong service hub for the community.

Additionally, the public works team regraded drainage ditches and widened the road surface. These improvements make the road safer and more functional for pedestrians and motorists, while also helping to reduce flood risks.
