The CCBF Ten-Year Outcomes Report is Here!

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) has released its Ten-Year Outcomes Report for the investment of the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) in Ontario. The report highlights positive economic, environmental, and community impacts of the Fund on Ontario municipalities between 2014-2023. See more details about the recent renewal of the fund.

8,048 projects were completed by municipalities using $6.6 billion from the Fund during this period. The Fund offers flexibility, allowing municipalities to invest in projects that meet specific community needs, achieve municipal goals, and align with the federal government’s objectives under the CCBF.

Ontario’s CCBF investments helped improve nearly a tenth of Ontario’s municipal road network, reduced electricity demand by 136GWh, and expanded 27 public transit systems. The report also measures project outcomes like safe transportation of goods across the province, expansion of housing-enabling infrastructure, broadened connectivity for remote workers, increased foot traffic to local businesses, and energy efficiency.

The CCBF is a permanent and predictable source of funding to support municipal infrastructure projects and enable strong, clean, and vibrant communities. The fund allows for investments across 18 categories, helping municipalities address their unique needs, plan for the long-term future, and accelerate timelines. Communities across all of Canada received a total of $26.2 billion between 2014 and 2023.
