Dorion Township Replaces Culvert, Mitigates Flood Risk

The Township of Dorion recently replaced a culvert on Coldwater Drive, thanks to investments from the Canada Community-Building Fund. The road was also repaved to meet municipal standards.

The culvert on Coldwater Drive helps provide adequate drainage and reduce the risk of flooding and washouts. It’s located at a busy intersection with heavy traffic and was showing signs of significant wear and tear. The Township replaced it with a new galvanized culvert, which typically lasts longer than steel.

Replacement of the culvert has improved water flows and will help ensure the road doesn’t get washed out – especially during the spring when higher water levels are present.
