Georgina Completes Essential Dam Renewal

“The Pefferlaw Dam is an integral part of the charm and heritage of this community,” said Georgina Mayor Margaret Quirk.

In 2025, the Town of Georgina invested the CCBF in a $2 million renewal of the dam that keeps it safe and functional for the long-term.

The work involved restoring the retaining walls, installing a new operating bridge, reworking the surrounding soil, planting new trees, and more. These upgrades help maintain the structure of the dam and protect the surrounding landscape.

Located on Lake Simcoe, the Town has invested more than $22 million from the CCBF since the Fund began in 2005.
