Grey Highlands Improves Two Kilometres of Roadways

Investments from the Canada Community-Building Fund helped Grey Highlands invest in improving its road network.

In 2022, the Municipality invested $312,000 into the rehabilitation of two kilometres of Grey Road 63. This busy roadway sees more than 600 vehicles a day, and over time vehicle and heavy equipment traffic had led to wear and tear. The existing asphalt showed signs of deterioration and significant wheel track rutting.

Improvements included removal of the asphalt surface, grading and compacting with new gravel, and new asphalt surface treatment on the roadway and residential driveway entrances.

Grey Road 63 connects to Grey Road 9 - a road that was rehabilitated in 2020 by Grey County. This project ensures both road surfaces match, and will have a 15 to 20 year life expectancy.
