Horton Rehabilitates Road that Connects to Growth

Like many communities, Horton Township is growing. A local residential development in the Township has put more cars on roads, and more pressure on its infrastructure.

Lime Kiln Road is one of the main roadways leading to the development, and a route used by drivers to bypass the Town of Renfrew, connecting Highway 17 to an arterial county road.

A $36,000 investment from the CCBF helped the Township improve a stretch of Lime Kiln Road that was in bad shape. The new asphalt surface also reduces dust and noise for drivers and residents.

These improvements were made with consideration for residential growth, and the 50 homes in the immediate area. This project is the first of many improvements to Horton’s roads network happening over the next five years.
