Improving Transportation Infrastructure for Sustained Growth in Barrie
Barrie is using the BCSF Community stream to contribute to future growth by upgrading a key transportation corridor.
The project includes the construction of a trunk sewer and watermain, as well as the expansion of McKay Road with additional driving lanes, sidewalks, and a bike path.
These improvements will enhance traffic flow, support active transportation, and improve safety for residents and visitors. Once complete, the increased infrastructure capacity will help enable 1,140 new housing units.
With a total investment of more than $7.2 million, the project is laying the groundwork for sustainable community growth while improving transportation and municipal infrastructure for years to come.
