Kitchener Sparks New Fire Hall Project

Seven fire stations are located within the City of Kitchener, helping to keep residents safe.

The Kitchener Fire team works together to respond to more than 15,000 calls within city limits each year. The team includes firefighters, fire prevention staff, public educators, administrative personnel, dispatchers, communications staff, and other support personnel.

The City of Kitchener has invested in fire station upgrades using part of its yearly allocation of more than $8.4 million from the Build Communities Strong Fund Community stream. The project includes assessments of equipment and capacity, leading to the replacement of major parts of the aging HVAC system. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026.
