Kitchener Upgrades Community Centre with Energy-Efficient Heating

Breithaupt Community Centre features multiple pools, a gymnasium, and event spaces for residents of Kitchener to enjoy.

The local government recently invested more than $450,000 from the CCBF to renovate the community centre’s heating system including improvements that will make it more energy efficient.

The aging boiler system was no longer a reliable heat source and was replaced by a modern high-efficiency system including new pumps and piping that will allow a range of programs and services to continue uninterrupted. 

The project contributes to initiatives at the City of Kitchener to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support environmental sustainability.
