Kitchener’s Queen Street Placemaking Project

Queen Street in the City of Kitchener is looking more spectacular than ever thanks to support from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

The City invested CCBF funding in the Queen Street Placemaking Project, which involved a full surface reconstruction of sidewalk and pavement between Charles Street and Duke Street.

But improving the surface is not where the work stopped, as the City took the opportunity to include colourful paving patterns to brighten up this area.

This is a pilot for Kitchener’s new approach to streetscape-related asset management.
