Laying the Groundwork in Kawartha Lakes

The City of Kawartha Lakes receives a yearly allocation of more than $5 million from the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF), which goes towards essential infrastructure improvements that benefit residents, businesses, and future development.

In 2025, the City completed full reconstructions of key roadways like William Street, Murray Street, and York Street, which bring long-term durability of infrastructure and well-rounded streetscapes.

Road surfaces, watermains, and sanitary sewers were replaced, and many features were added including new trees, street furniture, pedestrian safety measures, and streetlighting.

Kawartha Lakes’ Asset Management Program identifies improvements like these across the City that are high priority so investments can be used efficiently.
