Leamington Revitalizes Waterfront
Near the southernmost point of Ontario and Canada, the Municipality of Leamington is home to a vibrant waterfront district on the shores of Lake Erie. The area is popular for its parks, beaches, active transportation, and much more.
Leamington is strengthening safety, accessibility, and connectivity of the area with a multi-year investment of $3.7 million supported by the Canada Community-Building Fund.
The federal investment is supporting new crosswalks, sidewalks, traffic calming measures, separated bike lanes, and multi-use pathways. These features improve pedestrian safety and accessibility, along with making the area more pleasant for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Leamington is also investing CCBF funds in the area to mitigate flooding and improve the reliability of essential services for residents. Work is underway to improve drainage, replace an aging watermain, and resurface Robson road.
The project is transforming the waterfront into a safer, more vibrant destination that supports local businesses and invites year-round enjoyment.
