London Modernizes EnviroDepot

Whether it’s dropping off recycling, yard waste, or excess construction materials, London’s Clarke Road EnviroDepot is striving for a safe, efficient process for residents.

London has a large and fast-growing population, which requires an increasingly large capacity for public waste disposal. The Canada Community-Building Fund supported the City’s multi-year $1.8 million investment at the Clarke Road facility to make sure higher demand was met with higher quality service.

Upgrades were completed in 2025 which include extended drop-off areas, redesigned queueing, new LED lighting, more secure fencing, and drainage improvements. Clearer traffic flow and more simultaneous drop offs improve the user experience as well as the capacity for waste diversion. Higher night visibility and farther proximity from heavy machinery also significantly improves safety for users and staff.

The high-use facility has been modernized with many long-term benefits and managed to do so while maintaining continued service during construction with a temporary depot.
