Planning for the Future in Haldimand County

Planning for the future is critical for Ontario’s municipalities as they face many dynamic challenges and priorities.

Haldimand County is using more than $250,000 from the CCBF to develop two key planning tools, a housing needs assessment and an asset management plan.

The housing needs assessment uses data and research to help to identify pressures and opportunities for housing and infrastructure development. It provides an important reference for issues of housing supply, housing affordability, and housing-enabling infrastructure that can guide future investment.

Improvements in asset management planning include software upgrades, staff training opportunities, and expansion of the scope of risk management and other methods of assessment. Progress in asset management is critical for providing efficient municipal services and ensuring municipal investments are used effectively.
