Reconstruction of Vital Infrastructure in Sault Ste Marie

The City of Sault Ste. Marie is investing CCBF funding in a series of reconstruction projects on vital infrastructure.

Included in the work, which is due to be completed in 2021, is the reconstruction of Sixth Avenue and the Farwell Terrace aqueduct, as well as resurfacing of Northern Avenue.

The project includes converting a four-lane road to a three-lane road, with one lane in each direction and a shared centre turn lane.

There will also be marked bicycle lanes. As well as improving road safety, the bicycle lanes will encourage active travel.
