Reducing Flood Risk in Halton Hills

Municipal infrastructure is essential for future planning such as mitigating flood risk, especially as extreme weather events become more common.

Halton Hills invested the CCBF in important storm sewer repairs to address local drainage issues and improved road safety and aesthetics in the process.

The $600,000 investment from the CCBF went toward repairing, cleaning, and relining the sewers, repaving the road, upgrading curbs and sidewalks, restoring driveways, and general landscaping. These improvements enhanced stormwater management, reduced flooding risk, improved road safety and pedestrian accessibility, and revitalized neighborhood aesthetics.

With development ongoing in the Town, the project helps accommodate for the impacts of growth on infrastructure capacity.
