Road Safety and Reliability Improved in South Algonquin
Located on the edge of Algonquin Park, the Township of South Algonquin often experiences intense weather events – especially during the winter and spring months.
This especially impacts visibility, safety and overall condition of South Algonquin’s roadways. In 2024, the Township invested $23,000 from the CCBF to improve the safety and reliability of roads in various locations across the Township, benefitting residents and a significant number of seasonal residents and tourists who visit the Township.
Work involved replacing deteriorated culverts, widening roads, and digging trenches beside roadways. These upgrades help with overall drainage and road visibility.
