Seawall Rehabilitation Keeps Brockville Residents Enjoying Centeen Park

The City of Brockville rehabilitated sections of the Centeen Park seawall in 2023. Centeen Park is a hotspot for the city, with residents often walking along the seawall, swimming in the water, or Scuba diving.

Above average water levels were seen in both 2017 and 2019, causing a 15 m section of the seawall to erode. Without rehabilitation, many water activities that are usually available at the park would have to be cancelled for the foreseeable future. To address the erosion, the City reinforced the seawall using large armour stone, ensuring access to park activities was uninterrupted.

Thanks to the investment from the Canada Community-Building Fund, residents will continue to have access to these activities, without fear of cancellation due to unsafe conditions.
