Shining a Light on Chapple Recreation Centre

New lighting has helped improve an important community hub for the people of the Township of Chapple.

CCBF funding was invested in renovations at Chapple Recreation Centre, where an outdated and dysfunctional lighting system was posing a hazard to the many community groups who use the facility.

The Township of Chapple’s Energy Management Plan identified the need for new lighting with improved energy efficiency, and the centre now benefits from an LED system that has helped to cut costs.

As well as hosting regular service groups and seniors’ events, the community centre is also used for weddings, funerals, elections and conferences.

Vaccination clinics are also held there, and the municipality has designated the building as its emergency management evacuation centre.
