Six Roads Being Rehabilitated in Armour Township

The Township of Armour is investing Canada Community-Building Funds into the partial rehabilitation of six different roadways in 2023.

Armour is a small village with a resident population of around 1,400 people, and is located in the Almaguin Highlands region of Parry Sound District.

Roadways in Ontario, and especially those in Northern Ontario, experience wear and tear from vehicles, weather events and more. In Armour, the Township has a maintenance program in place to ensure its roads are protected, kept in good shape and that the municipality is getting the best return for its investment.

In the spring, work will begin on sections of Chetwyn, Ferguson, Cherry Hill, Doe Lake, and Pickerel and Jack Lake Roads, as well as Sunnylea Avenue.

Sections of each road, totalling about 8.5 kilometres, will receive surface treatment to improve the roadway for drivers and extend the overall lifespan of the infrastructure.
