St. Catharines Upgrades Accessibility of Neighbourhood Trail

Grantham Rail Trail in St. Catharines has a little bit of everything. It provides residents with 5km of active transportation across the city with access to neighbourhoods, a mall, and even a beach.

A $926,000 investment from the CCBF helped the Municipality upgrade a large section of the trail from gravel to hard surface, making it safer and easier to use year-round as well as making it accessible for mobility devices and road bikes.

This investment enhances the quality and connectivity of the City’s trail network, providing all residents with opportunities for healthy active living. It also contributes to shared climate change objectives by strengthening alternatives to motor vehicle travel which is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions.
