Stimulating Economic Development in Milton

Milton is reducing congestion in a rapidly growing area of Town and stimulating economic development in the process.

Using part of its $4.3 million yearly allocation from the BCSF Community Stream, the Town expanded its Fifth Line with an updated design that has improved traffic flow and resulted in better connectivity for businesses and residents.

For businesses, the project improves access to the Derry Green Business Park and surrounding employment lands, making it easier for movement of employees, goods, and customers through the area. This enhanced connectivity helps to support economic activity, attract investment, and create opportunities for job growth.

For residents, the improvements provide more reliable travel times, safer driving conditions, and better connectivity between neighbourhoods and key destinations. The upgraded corridor also supports active transportation with the inclusion of on-street bike lanes and in-boulevard multi-use pathways.

Overall, the project plays an important role in supporting Milton’s growth by strengthening connections between residential, commercial, and industrial areas, while improving the day-to-day travel experience for the community.
