Summer Recreation Spotlight

Summer is here, and municipalities across Ontario are investing in recreation infrastructure to create more vibrant and active communities. 

Eligible recreation projects under the Build Communities Strong Fund Community stream include upgrades to community centres, arenas, pools, parks, playgrounds, and much more. 

Some notable projects that will make it easier to get out and enjoy the nice weather are:

• Brampton’s turf replacement at Terry Fox Stadium – allowing more playtime for schools and local soccer and football teams
• Ingersoll’s investment in the splash pad at Victoria Park – replacing or repairing all water features such as water guns, dumping buckets, pelicans, and more
• Grand Valley’s construction of new lighting at two ball diamonds – making it easier to play longer into the evening
