Thames Centre Lights up Local Park

Dorchester Park in the Municipality of Thames Centre is a much-loved community space. It’s home to a number of sports fields, community green spaces and is a connecting link for the town’s trail system.

The park is located in the centre of the community, with pedestrian pathways that lead to local schools, the downtown shopping area, healthcare facilities and sports fields.

In 2022, Thames Centre invested the Canada Community-Building Fund into the installation of 750 metres of pathway lighting at Dorchester Park. With this new lighting, the Park’s walking trails are accessible in early mornings and evenings.

The Municipality hopes the addition of lighting to the paths will promote active transportation, increase tourism on its various multi-use trails, and increase overall safety for pedestrians.
