Township of Brock Opens Doors for Accessibility

Two town halls in the Township of Brock have received accessibility upgrades thanks to investments totalling $100,000 from the CCBF.

East of Lake Simcoe, both the communities of Sunderland and Beaverton are located within the municipal boundaries of Brock Township. Each of their town halls has a newly installed accessible front door.

Sunderland’s door was designed to maintain the heritage look of the building while improving insulation of the building.

Beaverton replaced one door and added another, along with an upgraded ramp and new railings.

Both buildings are more than 100 years old, so these AODA-compliant accessible entrances are essential for residents using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. They allow for greater access to local theatre events, music festivals, and other community events hosted at the facilities.
