Woodstock Improves Mobility and Accessibility

Woodstock is improving its active transportation thanks to the Build Communities Strong Fund Community stream.

The City receives more than $1.5 million from the Fund each year and is using part of it to build more than 1.2 kilometres of new sidewalks in multiple locations across the city.

The new sidewalks will address gaps in the pedestrian network and improve safety and accessibility for residents. They will prevent the need to walk on the road edge or shoulder, which is especially beneficial for children, seniors, and residents using mobility aids or strollers.

The project improved connections to neighbourhood destinations and will benefit the whole city long-term.
