Eligible Projects
Projects eligible for Canada Community-Building funding under this category are those that result in the construction, material enhancement or renewal of infrastructure that reduces or eliminates long-term impacts and risks associated with natural disasters.
Examples
Eligible projects under this category include (but are not limited to):
- Building dams and dikes to reduce the risk of flooding;
- Restoring wetlands and other natural infrastructure to redirect and capture rainwater;
- Constructing firebreaks to limit the spread of wildfires; and
- Installing retaining walls, gabions, and revetments to control erosion.
